Baron Philippe de Rothschild Pays d’Oc Pinot Noir

Baron Philippe de Rothschild Pays d’Oc Pinot Noir

Description

This Pays d’Oc wine comes from one of the oldest wine-producing regions of France, Languedoc-Roussillon. The vineyard is a huge crescent-shaped amphitheatre facing the sea, stretching for 300 kilometres along the Mediterranean coast from the Spanish border to the Rhone delta.

The wines are matured for a short time in vats and quickly bottled at the Mouton Cadet winery so as to preserve all their freshness and fruit.

This wine is made entirely from a single variety. Highly aromatic, pinot noir has a pleasant bouquet and lingers on the palate.

The nose opens on expressive ripe red fruit, especially wild strawberry and Burlat cherry. Some vanilla and toasted notes appear on airing, together with a touch of cherry jam which adds complexity to the bouquet.

The attack is full and fruit-driven, dominated by red fruit flavours. The tannins are supple and elegant, in typical Pinot style, while vanilla and roast coffee notes emerge on the finish.
