In the south of France, in the heart of Languedoc-Roussillon, Baron Philippe de Rothschild’s winemakers have selected the areas with the best soil and climate for growing the Cabernet Sauvignon grape.
The nose opens on expressive, ripe red and black fruit aromas, followed by mild spice notes which bring a touch of freshness. The combination of fruit and spice fills out with airing.
The attack is powerful and round on highly expressive fruit flavours, between strawberry and blackberry, with suggestions of redcurrant and blackcurrant. The mid-palate shows heft, underpinned by a powerful and elegant tannic structure, leading into a long, fresh fruit finish.
