Et Voila! Mussels
This year’s mussel season started again in July at Papillon Restaurant. On the 15th of August Papillon restaurant presented Dutch mussels from Yrseke, prepared and accompanied by glasses of French wine. The wines were selected and paired by Govert van der Hout of Arion Wine Company. The menu opened with a Champagne aperitif of Bollinger Special Cuvee Brut and mussel croquet. Guests were then delighted by mussels classique, cooked in white wine with herbs and vegetables accompanied by Georges Dubœuf Mâcon-Villages Burgundy, 2012; Curry seasoned mussels, cooked in white wine with curry, celery, carrots and dill accompanied by Louis Latour Ardèche Chardonnay, 2013; And mussels a la Provence, cooked in rosé wine and a light spicy tomato antiboise accompanied by Caves d’Esclans Whispering Angel 2014. It was truly a fun night in Aruba.
