Cab and Beef Seminar
Members of the food and beverage industry in Aruba recently came together for an entertaining and enlightening food and wine seminar, hosted by Arion Wine Company and Jackson Family Wines. The seminar, led by the first and only Master Sommelier in Canada, Jennifer Huether, focused on pairing different cuts of beef with Cabernet Sauvignon Wines.
Participants were welcomed with a Galerie Naissance Sauvignon Blanc, before a pre-tasting with a selection of Jackson Family Wines, including a Kendall-Jackson ‘Vintner’s Reserve’ Chardonnay, Stonestreet Chardonnay, La Crema Pinot Noir and Byron Pinot Noir.
It was then on to the ‘meat’ of the seminar, where the group explored the nuances of pairing beef with wine, and how the full-bodied nature of the Cabernet Sauvignon stands up perfectly to a hearty steak. Cuts of Ribeye and Filet Mignon were served, paired with a Kendall-Jackson ‘Vintner’s Reserve’ Cabernet Sauvignon, 2005 Freemark Abbey Sycamore Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon and the Stonestreet Cabernet Sauvignon.
